Dear G20

The global financial system needs an upgrade

Global financial institutions like the World Bank and the IMF can help mobilise the funding needed to tackle the polycrisis and achieve the Global Goals, but they need a reboot. And their shareholders – the G20 leaders – are the ones that can make that happen. They must triple the investment in public banks, end crippling debt for low-income countries, and make polluters pay.

This Open Letter brings together an extraordinary array of leading voices, backing a global call for reform that has been steadily growing and is now too loud to ignore. It’s time upgrade these institutions and invest in our future.
